Fruity-line, Vacuum transport apple pulp

During the production of fresh apple juice, after squeezing the juice from the apple, a residue remains, the apple pulp. At Fruity-line, the juice is processed into a finished product where the pulp is a residual product that must be disposed of. Apple pulp is a crumbly sticky product that was previously collected and transported in plastic containers.

Question

Fruity-line commissioned IVS for a solution to automate apple pulp discharge. At three points in the production line, the pulp is released where, depending on the production of one of the three modules, it must be automatically transported to a central discharge point. The goal of Fruity-line is to save on labor, production space, internal transport and centralize residual flows within the production site. When the solution meets these requirements, there is a financial benefit that enables the investment in a solution.

Solution

IVS supplied a vacuum transport system where residual product is automatically extracted at three points depending on the signals given by the production line. The residual product is transported to a cyclone placed above a container. The cyclone then empties the residual product onto a conveyor that, depending on the direction of rotation, drops the product into container 1 or 2. By using the right vacuum technology, IVS delivered a low-maintenance system with very low installed electrical power. The system is equipped with excess capacity, making future expansion a low investment.
