Vacuum transport system for orange peels

During the production of orange juice, the juice is squeezed from the fresh oranges. During this process, the orange peels are released which then have to be disposed. Because the peels represent a residual value depending on the quality, this process should not detract from the quality of the end product.

Request

We received a request from a fruit processor to discharge high-capacity orange peels. These orange peels must be unloaded in a truck trailer. The process must be continuous and the quality of the peels must not deteriorate. In addition, the new system does not want to add water to promote transport (as in the old system).

Solution

IVS has installed an energy-efficient vacuum transport system where the product can be transported at a high capacity (approx. 10 T / hour). This allows the final residues to be discharged continuously without adding water. By arranging the system in such a way that the funnels of several orange presses are extracted one by one, a continuous product flow is created in the trailer, whereby the quality of the product is many times higher than with the old system. As a result, the end product has a higher yield for this customer.
